A new online social program AccessCare started late last year has taken off with many people returning again and again to connect with people over Zoom in the sessions. As a new program, it's always evolving and changing to suit what people are interested in now and what they would like to hear about in the future.

December kicked off with a few casual coffee and chat sessions, a German travel feature and a session on looking after pets in the heat.  The new year saw the introduction of the highly popular expert series covering healthy nutrition as we age, armchair exercises and pruning tips among others.

For the rest of February there is a busy calendar of sessions to choose from including a technology session suggested by our participants. This session will take place on Friday 19 February and will cover a range of topics such as how to set up an email address, using Google, YouTube and tips for using Zoom.

Great conversation and lots of laughs.

Socialising is very good for your health

If you need any more convincing to connect, a recent report 'Ageing well in a changing world' states that “Lacking social connections carries a risk that is comparable, and in many cases, exceeds that of other well accepted risk factors, including smoking up to 15 cigarettes per day, obesity, physical inactivity and air pollution.
