Are you looking for a job where you can make a real difference in the community? As a Support Worker, you will assist people aged 65 and over and people with a disability, to remain living independently in their homes.
The role is permanent part time, servicing the City of Kingston local region and offers an average of 5 hours per day over a 4 or 5 day week, Monday to Friday.
AccessCare, City of Kingston delivers support services for people who are elderly, have a disability, their carers and people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team on a permanent basis.
Your responsibilities will include working with a wellness and reablement approach to support frail elderly and people with a disability to remain living independently in their own homes as well as supporting families by providing the opportunity for them to take a short break from their caring responsibilities. A large component of the work is domestic assistance within the homes of our clients.
You will utilise your strong interpersonal skills to provide a high level of service and establish genuine and sustainable relationships with our clients.
For our BAND 1 role, no formal qualifications are necessary. For those with a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (BAND 2) in addition to domestic assistance there may be an opportunity to assist consumers with other activities of daily living, focusing on wellness and reablement to enable consumers to remain living independently in their own homes. All applicants must have the physical capacity to undertake homecare tasks; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
We will require you to have a current Victorian driving licence and an insured road worthy car. You must also be prepared to undergo a Police Check.
